Hope all those that celebrated Thanksgiving had a happy and healthy holiday! )

And here we are….Black Friday! So named because it is the day that stores see black (profit) lines in sales rather than red (losses) lines. And one of these days, I will be crazy enough in RL to venture out at obscene hours in the morning to save that one dollar on the latest Elmo doll. Maybe.

But holiday sales are not limited only to RL. Oh no!! Sales abound in SL, in all shapes, sizes, percentages, colors and forms in SL! And all you have to do is fight the lag to get there! )

A Little Goes A Long Way

As we approach the holidays, we become more thankful for what we have. For those we love. For those that love us.

And although each of us may have a down time now and again, we must always keep in mind that there are those who going without. Those who are in pain. Those who just need a little more help.

With that in mind, I’d like to just put a little note into everyone’s heads: a little bit goes a long way. A dollar. A blanket. A can of food.

Never forget that the person or family you are helping would be worse off without your help.

I also wanted to list a few charities that you might want to consider contributing to. Some I have assisted myself. Others I have heard about. But I thought a list would be nice to help remind us that some of us are more fortunate than others in one way or another.

I also encourage anyone to leave a comment with other charities to add to the list. Especially international ones, because I am not well versed with any.

FRESH OFF THE BLOGS: The Ticking Hand of Time (OMG! Can I Shop Now?)

Here I am!!  And blogging too!  Who would have thunk it? ;op

In all seriousness now, the holidays are getting closer.  Almost time to fill up on the food we love but know we should probably have in moderation (what is that word again?).  Almost time to spend time with the ones we love but don’t see often (you mean I have to go to Aunt Marge’s house AGAIN?).  And most importantly, almost time for awesome awesome AWESOME sales in SL!

Anyhoo, here’s the freshness:

- Adam n Eve have been busy bees as of late.   This week, they offer up (what is probably) the first installment of photorealistic skins, released on the “Evolution” line.  Very impressive, if my inexperienced skin shopper self should say so.  Also new this week, “Celebre” – a sexy dress with four versatile styles.  (http://www.adam-n-eve.co.uk/)

Apologies…Yet Again…

Hi everyone,

Here I am, feeling bad because I didn’t post an FotB post yesterday.  I am so sorry….again.

Unfortunately, RL is becoming a monster of an influence.  Many things (both good and bad) are happening or waiting to happen or threatening to happen that my mind is split as to what to pay attention to.  And by the time I come home, kick off my shoes, and sit down in front of the computer, my energy is completely spent and the mind shuts down for the night.  Even the little time I used to be able to sneak away during work to post is not what it is anymore.

No worries, I am not leaving or quitting or giving up on the blog.  It will just have unexpected outages for a little while.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel – I see it, I know what it looks like, I have identified it.  Just trying to hold on to the rocky road beneath my feet until I get there.

Many thanks to my friends who understand and know what I am going through.  And many thanks to all of you for reading and commenting and everything else.  Creating and writing this blog has been a wonderful outlet for me to express my love of fashion and any other random thing I come across.

My Love….Eternal

I would usually apologize for a non-SL post, but in this case, this has everything to do with SL.

One year ago today, someone came into my life and offered his heart.
One year ago today, someone saw the wounds of my own heart and took it into his gentle hands to heal.
One year ago today, an internet connection into a virtual world linked two people who would have otherwise never met.

One year ago today, I found the love of my life.

It is possible. You can find the love of your RL in SL.

And it is possible. It does actually last.

I love you beyond any statement of words or materials.

I am forever thankful to powers that be for letting us meet and get to know each other.

And always, forever grateful to “the broken road”.

Happy one year, my love. You have my heart and soul forever.

FOotM: Cool Fashion

OMG!  Don’t faint!  Yes!!  It is a Favorite Outfit of the Moment post!!! )

So after all my costumes, I wanted to just throw on some clothes to be comfy and fashionable.  And then I find unopened boxes in my inventory.  Like finding the hidden present in the Christmas tree!

Let’s start from the bottom up….

The boots:  omg!!  Yummy!!!  I happened upon League whilst surfing around SLExchange.  If you’ve never been to League, you are missing it!!  But these boots?  OMG!!  These boots I SLusted after!!  The zipper up the side and the (OMG!) amazing fit with NO resizing!!!  Ok, I’m done drooling.

The outfit:  Lexi posted this outfit on her Flickr and I left a one-word comment:  WANT!  LOL well, she granted my wish and sent me this Halloween present.  The skirt is cute as hell, the sweater is wonderfully textured….this is what I want to disappear in during the cold months.

The hair:  for some reason, I gravitate towards this hair during the cold months.  Have no idea why, but it’s cute, it’s flirty, and it fits prim collars for sweaters awesomely (maybe that’s why…..).

The eyes:  eyes?  Yes!  Eyes!!  I was dropped two review packs and they swam in the depths of my inventory for probably ever.  I had never thought to get new eyes.  Didn’t really think of it.  But when I put this on, I couldn’t stop looking.

The pic doesn’t do them justice and I’m a tard and couldn’t figure out how to get close enough.  But if you can tell, they are just gorgeous.  This is Dualtone Steel 3, but the offerings from Scarlia Inc. is sure to make you want to grab at least a pair…or two…or eight.

Final Farewell to Halloween 2008

Sigh……Halloween came and went….so fast….

And now it’s November.  How’d that happen?

To close out Halloween 2008, I wanted to post a classic costume.  Unfortunately, this costume no longer exists.  It is “Enchantress” from Last Call & Celestial Studios.  It is a classic and one of the last releases before we lost Ginny Talamasca from both lives.  Here is the pic I posted last year Halloween:
