Let’s start by getting a few things straight:
– These are my opinions only. I have my own brain and my brain talks to my fingers and tells my fingers what to type. There is no one else speaking here but me. I am entitled to my opinion just like you are entitled to yours.
– There is no right or wrong opinion. If there were, there would be no such thing as an opinion. There would just be right and wrong answers.
– Trying to convince me that my thinking is completely wrong and twisted and doesn’t comply with your own is futile. Refer back one. There is no right or wrong opinion. If you feel that strongly, I recommend you start a blog of your own. This is my space. I get to write here. Deal with it.
With that out of the way, let’s continue.
I took a break from blogging for a lot of small little reasons, but for one big, main reason. That reason was fundage. With the change in my residence and the change in my RL job, the change in my income was severe. The side effect was less (or, in most cases, no) money that could be used to transform into spendable Lindens to feed my insatiable shopaholic feeding frenzy. Sorry, but RL unpaid bills have more of a consequence than not being able to pay rent on virtual land (yes, I let that go too. I’m virtually homeless).
But we’ve all had to face that reality. If you haven’t, then you’re still a noob. And a sensible SL’er knows when its time to turn focus and attention to RL and deal with it and all its many demands. I’m not the first. I certainly will not be the last.
So now, go ahead and ask. What has changed that brings me back now?
Nothing monetary. I’m still pinching from RL paycheck to RL paycheck, making sure the bills get paid and I have food to eat. Those are priorities. They take precedence.
But in recent weeks, I have been a listener on many a conversation between designers and fashionistas alike, all commenting on one main theme: bloggers who have a reason and a focus to blog, not just ask for a free review pack for no other reason than to say they blogged a designer once….sometime…somewhere.
This makes me think back to the main core of why I started blogging: my love of SL fashion. I have always been amazed by the wonderful creations talented designers conjure up for us poor fashion fiends. In my 3 ½ years in SL, I have seen so many advancements in designs and creations, each one with their own unique style and touch. Every niche of clothing, every style of jewelry, every variety of shoes, every avenue of hairstyles…..all of it…. it all combines to make what SL fashion is today.
Hence, the 68K inventory. I love it THAT much.
Did that love disappear? Nope, never did. It’s still here. I still skim over the fashion feed and pop my head into my favorite stores to see what’s new in the minds of those that can create.
Only…my wallet is empty. Depressingly so.
Well, that will no longer hold me from blogging what I love.
I have 68K worth of fashion love to blog. I don’t need to blog every new release that comes out. There are plenty of bloggers that do that already and do it quite well and help to keep your fingers on the pulse of the new release vein.
I want to share my fashion love with you. I want to blog designers, showing pieces that I’ve bought with my own Lindens because I wanted them. Because I liked them. How can I honestly blog to you a designer and/or an item and influence you to buy it when I wouldn’t buy it or shop there myself? To me, that’s not the core of my blogging. I love to shop. I love fashion. I want to show you what I love.
So that is what you will see here. You will see established designers that have been around for a while and have grown their brands to great lengths – you’ll see some old stuff and some new stuff (note to self: make sure to note what’s new and old), helping to reenergize your own love of that designer. Or even maybe introducing you to someone you’ve never shopped at before.
You’ll also see some relatively new designers. Designers of which I have fallen in love with their first and second generation creations and wish to share that love with you.
Will I have brand spanking new releases? Hopefully. We’ll see what Lindens I can scrape up for a little shopping here and there. It is awfully hard to break this spending habit.
For designers, I will continue to do what I had been doing: giving you a loving poke when I have blogged you and making you smile, which in turn makes me smile. I may also (still toying with this idea) poke you prior to posting to let you know you are on my list and if there is anything in particular you would like me to feature. I’m not here to ask for freebies or review packs. I leave that decision in your hands. It is your business, you work insanely hard at it, you choose the value of what you give and who you give it to. I want to be one of your many tools you have at your disposal to get your name and your creations out to the shopping masses. Oh, it’s also been suggested to me that I humbly ask those designers of which I love their stuff but it is a little out of my price range if they would like to give me a giftcard to shop for their blog post. That still feels weird to me. I don’t like to mooch. So we’ll see.
To the critics….
– Yes, I do have designers on my friends list. They have gotten on my list for one reason or another. And if they choose to give me stuff because they want to, that’s their decision. And if I choose to blog them, that’s my decision. If you have a problem with it, go find some friends of your own.
– No, I’m not paid to blog. Let’s be honest: if I was, I wouldn’t be writing this post. Dur. Moving on.
I’m excited. Blogging makes me all girly giddy and I can’t explain why. But I have missed it. Time to get back to it.
Let’s get rockin’!

As I sit in my RL job, watching the hours tick by, I decided to jot down a list of things to get done between today and Sunday.
And then I tried to take a picture with my camera (cause I thought it was funny and would be funny to post), but it would appear that my batteries have died.
So, my list:
- Halloween Hit List for Accessories
- Search Stats Idea Post
- Stellar Designs Gift Certificate Shopping (that I’ve had forever now)
- Make the world safe for jellybeans
And then I added one more….
- Buy batteries
Can I go home yet?

So Dion gave me a little parcel to play with. It’s right by the club. He said, “I want to give you something for your blog.” He’s cool ‘n’ stuff. ;o)
I’ve had this parcel now for about a month. I have had absolutely no idea what to do with it. I know it won’t be anything big. I’m not trying to be like Fashion Consolidated *tips her ETD hair in acknowledgement and respect* or any big fashion central thing that already exists. It’s just going to be a little spot that will have a link to my blog here and some fashion pieces that I just haven’t figured out yet (I also have not found any office furniture I like, but I did find some nice couches I just put in).
Right now, I have a little kiosk for my friends Nyla and Toko’s mag, Vain. I thought it would be cool to have some kiosks offering fashionable mags. So that’s one direction. I think I also want to do like “Aly’s Designer of the Month” that will have an LM that you can pick up and go. This would be determined by hits on the posts here. But I’m still searching for more.
So that’s it. Just the randomness from my head. If you have thoughts, I would love to hear them. Once I get everything solidified, I’ll post a SLurl here.

Just a little break while I work on my Last Call post (holy hannah……did I really buy that much?)….
I had some convos the other day with two people I hold in high regard. I asked for their opinions and they gave me their honest ones. And I love them both for it *passes out more M&Ms to Jelly and RavenLynn*.
If you haven’t read it yet, I would highly recommend you head over to Mean Girls Guide to SL (http://slmeangirls.blogspot.com) and read Jelly’s post entitled “You Blog It”. I would also recommend you read Jelly’s follow up on the Verbal Stew (http://verbalstewii.blogspot.com).
Jelly makes some really good points about the current state of SL blogging and, in particular, fashion blogging. And if I were to add my in-depth theory as to why, I think a lot of it has to do with how much fashion in SL continues to change and grow. I mean, think about it. Each one of your friends has a different style. Each style has at least a handful of designers/content creators that contribute to that style. And as SL grows as a community, this will grow as well…probably in triplicate. This then feeds into people who already blog blogging well…more. And also initiates new people to start their own blogs. It’s just the nature of the whole thing, IMHO.
But here is the core as to why I’m writing this. In any case – in what I write, what Jelly writes, what ANYONE writes – it is simply their OPINION. Let’s look at that again. OPINION. It’s what I think. It’s what you think. It’s what he thinks. It’s what she thinks. In the end, the only person that makes the decision is YOU. Opinions should be taken to heart, but as human beings, we have the ability to make our own choice. I will always ask for someone to give me their honest opinion. Negative or positive, I would like to hear it. But in the end, I’m going to do what I’m going to do. Your opinion may help influence my decision, but I take responsibility for what my final choice is.
So that’s it. Opinions are opinions. You have a brain. Make the final choice yourself.
And now, I’d like to talk about….
Not only fuzzy boots. But flexi fuzzy boots. Really flexi fuzzy boots.
Got the image in your head?
Now put them on a guy.
…………………………………………..am I missing something here?
Maybe this is the next fashion wave. Or maybe because I’m not a guy I’m just not getting it.
Think about it.

This was actually not on my list of things to post this week, but it keeps popping up. So I’ll throw my four cents into the ring just for the halibut of it.
Most are aware of the petition circulating in regards to expanding the group limit from 25 to (I believe) 50. As someone who is maxed out on her group limit, this is good proposition to have.
However, one has to sit back and think a moment. For every group you are a member of, there is that much more of a chance of unwanted IM spam or chatter. Now, the supposed upgrade in the next update makes it default so that you get no group chat unless you physically change it yourself. Ok, so…provided that works right…this really won’t be an issue.
Now introduce Subscribe-o-Matics. I think these things are great. I would imagine so do all the designers and store owners and anyone else selling a product. It keeps the group slots open and I don’t log in an ongoing list of notice after notice after notice. I can just open my “Open Chat” window when I log in and read all in one large chunk everything from the Subscribe-o-Matics in under a minute. The most I have to do is accept inventory.
My ideal? That the groups I belong to are only for clubs or families or personal stuff like that. Anything retail oriented be on Subscribe-o-Matics. Would I still need more than 25? Hmmm…tough one. I really don’t know.
Dear Easter Bunny:
Can you make one general place where I can see every subscribe-o-matic out there and subscribe to my heart’s content?
I’ll leave you Peeps at the door.

Just to bring the whole ETD journey this time around to a proper close, I thought everyone would get a kick out of seeing the rather extensive list of ETD styles I have. Either that or it will give Elika a good giggle.
So, how many of these do YOU have? Do you beat me or come close (83 styles, kids)? And continue to follow our story to find out what happens when Elika creates so much that she eventually….runs out of names. But only for a day. ;o)
Bedded Attitude…..Bonita II…..Brenda…..Brittany…..

So one of the first things I really blogged about was how there has yet be a shoe expo/fair. How we’ve had one for hair, for clothes, for jewelry…. But our poor feet continue to be ignored.
And no one has responded to my quiet little plea….
So I’ll add another goody into the plea. Plus it’ll make me do something I had been putting off because I don’t know how well I’ll do it.
Tonight I’ll blog about shoes. Don’t know how I’ll do it yet. But it will be done…tonight.
You have been warned. Fasten your seatbelts.
And tie your shoes.

….one enjoys more time in SL. ;o)
Yeah, I took a mental health day yesterday. I’m entitled. So there. :op
So what the hell did I do all yesterday? Well, I slept. WOOT!!
After said sleep, I logged in and putzed around. I finally wound up at a costume fashion show, held by Sophisticated Body Modeling Agency. It was a new way to spend over two hours of my time. I saw some really cute and sexy costumes from designers like Swaffette Firefly (sf Designs), Wiccan Sojourner (Bewitched), Shadow Weaver (ShadoWiccan), kallyfaith Rolland (K.O. Designs), Paige Wade, Becca Hua & Zoe Hana (Just 4 Kid Kreations), and Sherona DeGroot (Innovations). All in all, for my very first time at a full fashion show, it was pretty cool.
During this, Ms. Rolland popped up in my IMs and, upon noticing my ~* SL Blogger *~ tag, asked who I blog for. After explaining, “Well, I blog for myself!!”, she asked if she could send me some of her newest costumes and review the ones I really liked. OMG!! Another first!! My first drop review!! Love it!!
So my next post will be my favorites of the newest costumes at K.O. Designs. So keep your peepers peeled!!
FYI: 7 days to Halloween. And you better have M&Ms when I come around.

So I’m sitting at work (obviously not working) and flipping through old back issues of Second Style (http://www.secondstyle.com) when a thought hits me.
We’ve had the following:
-Clothing Expo (I think it was an expo; might have been a fair)
So ummm…where’s the shoe fair?
I want to be able to drool over all the boots, wedges, heels, flip flops, slippers and other such creations that designers have put their hearts and soles (lol) into all in one place for a brief time.
Am I asking too much? Hello out there!!
*knocks on the door*
Will anyone answer my prayer???
