I wouldn’t be much of a sport if I didn’t do my own challenge, let alone the first one….
I have decided that the best way for me to do the challenges is post mine on Sunday to finish out the current week’s challenge and put up details for the next week’s. So I sayeth, so it shall be done!
I saw an awful lot of amazing posts… many people digging way down, a lot of them noting how they just deleted a lot of old stuff (I have NO idea how you people do that. I have not deleted anything since I rezzed lol!). Amazing creations and combos came out this week. I hope mine measures up.
The skin is the first “real” skin I had after leaving newbiedom. And it was given to me the night my shape was made….by a very dear friend who took advantage of the fact that it was 4AM for me and she was in Australia and thought it was keen time to drag me kicking and screaming to update my look. Hence, the birth of my blog. That was mid-September, 2007. Wow, my av is old. So that is Naughty Designs skin. The only one I have.
The outfit was kind of cool to put together. I think a lot of newer bloggers or fashionistas read my blog and only think I can blog what is given to me in whole outfits. Well, I may be an oldie myself, but I still dress my little barbie av with as much creativity as you do, kiddies! I remember getting the Girlie outfit. I think I wore it for a good week before someone told me they saw enough of it. It comes with pants and a skirt, but I desperately wanted to wear jeans. And you can’t go wrong with Celestial Studios. You just can’t. The belt from Nyte’N’Day gives it that last detail that you just know you need.
Shiny Things was one of the first stores I discovered for some awesome jewelry. Fallingwater has some amazing creations and the Savage set is one of them. Awesome to look at, amazing to wear.
I remember when the Fedorable came out for Hair Fair. It was all over the feeds. And for good reason. It’s a great creation. Torrid is greatly missed from the fashion scene.
The shoes from Periquita are the “newest” purchase of the outfit, having been acquired in September of 2008. They’re cute. Go ahead and look for a while. I don’t mind.
My poses are from Long Awkward Pose, who was one of the first pose stores I truly spent tons of Lindens at and I’m sure made Dove a happy girl in the process.
So there you have it. How’d I do?
Hair: TorridWear – Fedorable Loveless (Wheat)
Jewelry: Shiny Things – Savage Silver & Tanzanite Set
Pants: Celestial Studios – Vintage Embellished Jeans
Top: Girlie – Juliet Linen
Belt: Nyte’N’Day – Basic Black Belt
Shoes: Periquita – Mary Squares (Brown)
Skin: Naughty Designs – Spotlight Beach Tan (Icy Coffee)
Poses: Long Awkward Pose
And now………for details on next week’s challenge, read up here or on my Plurk.
Have a great week folks!

Sooo my little brain came up with a little idea….
Many people seem to like! 😀
Via Plurk, I offered up the idea of weekly themes (challenges if you feel so inclined to call them) for the SL blogging community to help keep us on our toes and drum up inspiration and unity. Apparently, more than just one person liked the idea. And then I smiled. Big.
Whilst I will try to own up to my own challenges, I will try to post weekly those that have decided to take up that week’s challenge. Nothing is mandatory or required. It is meant to be fun and inspiring. If you would like to be kept up-to-date with the next theme, please friend me on Plurk.
To my plurky bloggers: I will try my best to keep the weekly lists up-to-date as I see them posted on Plurk. If you notice after a day that I haven’t added you, please send me a private Plurk and I’ll add you on.

~*~ Solange ~*~
~*~ Designer: Solange Cerveau ~*~
Ok, so this post is behind schedule. However, it is also the first post with THIS MANY PICTURES!!! OMG, over 30 outfits I photographed and that wasn’t even everything in my inventory!
Why so many? Because I loooooove what Solange creates! And I own most of it because she throws awesome sales – most of my collection was obtained during a 100L sale.
What is so great about Solange? Versatility. Creativity. Vitality. There is such variety in what she offers. And yes, you will see fantasy outfits and you will see a lot of silks. But you have to think outside the box! Don’t just sit there and think you have to be collared to enjoy these creations. Silks are HELLA sexy and are a great way to tease your partner!
And every outfit I put on from Solange feels so bright and so alive. Very vibrant. It’s just a fun place to shop!
So here we go, the amazing onslaught of picture goodness featuring the awesome designs of Solange Cerveau!
Definitely have to start with a display of skin flaunting goodies! Don’t these look like just yummy? The top two are the most fun for me! Trouble is just as it sounds……trouble! 😀 Slave for Fashion should be a must have for every blogger to where whilst shopping so as to easily identify each other! But from the fun at the top, you have such soft and sexy yumminess in Shalenas and Sophia. So pretty.
Girlie goodness! Lotsa skirts and flirty tops! OMG, love it! Sassy and Sassy Dots are among Solange’s latest releases and I am loving the subtle texture work on them. I love the detailing on the top of the Tequila skirt and pants. Sweet is just a comfy and cute outfit. I think I wore it for almost a month when I first got it. Candy….yummmmmy! Is that not sexy or what?
Some softness….some sexiness. Petalwing, Amore 2.0 and Romance are beautiful pieces for you to share with your loved one…or ones….or hell, just pamper yourself with them! Slide is a great dress for those nights you just wanna shake your money maker. Dare is one of my top faves, mainly because I just love how the top looks. Great texture. Mademoiselle has some great depth to it, with the detailing of the corset and the sculpted wrist cuffs.
Fiesta is my most favoritest piece from Solange yet. It’s just…wow. Even though it’s labeled as a silk, I could so easily wear this on a beach. It’s just soooo pretty. Aphrodisia is tintable as well as Infatuation, so you color freaks can go nuts! Elan is so something I would wear in RL. That’s just uber comfiness for me. Missy is way cute and I love the sweater texturing. Devotion is like THE goddess silk. You either feel like a princess or a goddess in it. The prim work is amazing and is all together a fantastic piece.
This section is entitled “The Short and the Long of It”. LOL yeah, I’m getting punchy and my humor is warped to begin with! Daydream is demure and pretty while Saturday is elegant and sexy. Highland Hipbanger….this is just a fun outfit! It’s like…Braveheart meets Dominatrix…I think…or something like that lol! I dunno, but I’m loving it! Devotion, Because and Allure are all cute little dresses, great staples for any wardrobe.
Remember I said I photographed a whole lot? Yeah, I didn’t realize I photographed Tequila Sweater Set twice in two different colors until I uploaded to Flickr. So shush. Whiskey is a cool night out outfit. The lace skirt is uber cute and the layering effect on the top is great. BOOM is a flirty dress that comes in so many different colors, you can probably find one to match your favorite pair of shoes. Back to some skin showing, Elegance is just that….an elegant piece of lingerie. At first I didn’t think I’d like the tail piece, but it grew on me and actually adds depth to the whole outfit. The Peacock Silk (despite what you might think the name would imply) is very simple and elegant. The gold edging texture makes it stand out.
Butterfly had to be by itself. It’s just a creation unto itself. I don’t care what your feeling are towards silk or fantasy or anything. But there is no way you can put on this piece…..and NOT like it…and just stare it in awe. That’s all I have to say. Go ahead and stare for a little bit before reading on.
So there you have it. All the variety and uniqueness that is Solange. I dare you to go there and not find at least three outfits that you don’t immediately grab up and buy.
But remember….I’m broke. So…..I won’t owe you anything if you try to be a smartass and not buy three. So shush again.

~*~ Indyra Originals ~*~
~*~ Designer: Indyra Seigo ~*~
To get the train rolling ahead, I hit up my inventory for the goodness that is Indyra Originals. At the hand of its namesake – Indyra Seigo – I.O. (yeah, I’m a lazy bish lol) boasts funky fresh fashions with an eye for detail. I have been an I.O. customer from my newbie days wayyyyyyy back in late 2006, early 2007. I have seen it grown and develop into a well rounded offering of fashion for those who want to stand out and be seen to those who just want to be sexy for their loved ones.
Indyra puts her talents to great work here, using prims and sculpties to bring her ideas to virtual life. She has come a long way from the early days and has cemented herself as an established and talented designer in the SL Fashion world.
So enough of the verbiage. Let’s go drool over some clothes, shall we?
Great timing on this release as I was just about to hit post when Indyra sent this down the pipeline. Her newest release for July, the Bon Charme Jacket is my favorite of the three. The details on it are amazing, down to the chains and jewelry prims. Resizeable, so have no fear of spending your hard earned Lindens to have to sit there for hours on end trying to stretch and pull each part to make it fit your avie. The cowl-neck is way sexy…..always a plus to tease in a little bewbage. The jacket, top and shorts are all available in a variety of colors, so mix and match to your heart’s content.
I think this may be my favorite outfit for a while. It’s just too friggin hawt. The J’aime Jeans are offered in three washes: Black, Brown and Blue. So just pick your favorite wash and match it with the J’aime Tank you like, and you’re set to go. Oh, and the tank comes in a see-through option as well! 😀 I love the Marina Belt. Resizeable and the texture is just amazing. And what girl can’t use some funky silver hoops? Love ’em!
Again, one of the many things I love of I.O. is how the details make the outfits. Prim and sculpted pieces give outfits such depth in a virtual world. The flexi pieces of the Leo top, the collar and shoulder pieces of Halcion, and the collar on Armada….small things that just bring such a depth to an outfit. Wonderful.
These go from innocent to sweet to ahem…naughty! C’est Facile is simple yet elegant. The detail on the sculpted piece of the top just makes the whole thing. Davenport keeps it sweet and I love the arm piece. Fairfield Prep is just a nauuuughty outfit! You can even buy a matching skirt to give everyone a little show! 😀
If I liked wearing dresses in RL, I would sooo wear Milana. It’s simple and pretty. Princesa was acquired at the Fashion Expo in 2008. And Indyra still has it in her store offerings! It’s just funky freshness. What I love on Joya is the flexi front ruffleage. Again, depth is what makes it real!
SoCal is a great outfit for the clubs or a night out. A little midriff never hurt anyone! 😀 The L’Ardent dress is just spectacular. The detailing on the designs of the flexi is great. I paired it with the Celeste Jeweled Collar, which does not appear to be offered anymore (I swear I looked Indyra!! I even used Emerald Search). But it’s a great piece of jewelry to have.
This is merely a miniscule offering of what Indyra Originals has. I didn’t even show any of the shoes!!! But you need to just go and see for yourself. I’m sure you will find at least one or two outfits you will love…or three….or four or five……

~*~ Aly ~*~
Let’s start by getting a few things straight:
– These are my opinions only. I have my own brain and my brain talks to my fingers and tells my fingers what to type. There is no one else speaking here but me. I am entitled to my opinion just like you are entitled to yours.
– There is no right or wrong opinion. If there were, there would be no such thing as an opinion. There would just be right and wrong answers.
– Trying to convince me that my thinking is completely wrong and twisted and doesn’t comply with your own is futile. Refer back one. There is no right or wrong opinion. If you feel that strongly, I recommend you start a blog of your own. This is my space. I get to write here. Deal with it.
With that out of the way, let’s continue.
I took a break from blogging for a lot of small little reasons, but for one big, main reason. That reason was fundage. With the change in my residence and the change in my RL job, the change in my income was severe. The side effect was less (or, in most cases, no) money that could be used to transform into spendable Lindens to feed my insatiable shopaholic feeding frenzy. Sorry, but RL unpaid bills have more of a consequence than not being able to pay rent on virtual land (yes, I let that go too. I’m virtually homeless).
But we’ve all had to face that reality. If you haven’t, then you’re still a noob. And a sensible SL’er knows when its time to turn focus and attention to RL and deal with it and all its many demands. I’m not the first. I certainly will not be the last.
So now, go ahead and ask. What has changed that brings me back now?
Nothing monetary. I’m still pinching from RL paycheck to RL paycheck, making sure the bills get paid and I have food to eat. Those are priorities. They take precedence.
But in recent weeks, I have been a listener on many a conversation between designers and fashionistas alike, all commenting on one main theme: bloggers who have a reason and a focus to blog, not just ask for a free review pack for no other reason than to say they blogged a designer once….sometime…somewhere.
This makes me think back to the main core of why I started blogging: my love of SL fashion. I have always been amazed by the wonderful creations talented designers conjure up for us poor fashion fiends. In my 3 ½ years in SL, I have seen so many advancements in designs and creations, each one with their own unique style and touch. Every niche of clothing, every style of jewelry, every variety of shoes, every avenue of hairstyles…..all of it…. it all combines to make what SL fashion is today.
Hence, the 68K inventory. I love it THAT much.
Did that love disappear? Nope, never did. It’s still here. I still skim over the fashion feed and pop my head into my favorite stores to see what’s new in the minds of those that can create.
Only…my wallet is empty. Depressingly so.
Well, that will no longer hold me from blogging what I love.
I have 68K worth of fashion love to blog. I don’t need to blog every new release that comes out. There are plenty of bloggers that do that already and do it quite well and help to keep your fingers on the pulse of the new release vein.
I want to share my fashion love with you. I want to blog designers, showing pieces that I’ve bought with my own Lindens because I wanted them. Because I liked them. How can I honestly blog to you a designer and/or an item and influence you to buy it when I wouldn’t buy it or shop there myself? To me, that’s not the core of my blogging. I love to shop. I love fashion. I want to show you what I love.
So that is what you will see here. You will see established designers that have been around for a while and have grown their brands to great lengths – you’ll see some old stuff and some new stuff (note to self: make sure to note what’s new and old), helping to reenergize your own love of that designer. Or even maybe introducing you to someone you’ve never shopped at before.
You’ll also see some relatively new designers. Designers of which I have fallen in love with their first and second generation creations and wish to share that love with you.
Will I have brand spanking new releases? Hopefully. We’ll see what Lindens I can scrape up for a little shopping here and there. It is awfully hard to break this spending habit.
For designers, I will continue to do what I had been doing: giving you a loving poke when I have blogged you and making you smile, which in turn makes me smile. I may also (still toying with this idea) poke you prior to posting to let you know you are on my list and if there is anything in particular you would like me to feature. I’m not here to ask for freebies or review packs. I leave that decision in your hands. It is your business, you work insanely hard at it, you choose the value of what you give and who you give it to. I want to be one of your many tools you have at your disposal to get your name and your creations out to the shopping masses. Oh, it’s also been suggested to me that I humbly ask those designers of which I love their stuff but it is a little out of my price range if they would like to give me a giftcard to shop for their blog post. That still feels weird to me. I don’t like to mooch. So we’ll see.
To the critics….
– Yes, I do have designers on my friends list. They have gotten on my list for one reason or another. And if they choose to give me stuff because they want to, that’s their decision. And if I choose to blog them, that’s my decision. If you have a problem with it, go find some friends of your own.
– No, I’m not paid to blog. Let’s be honest: if I was, I wouldn’t be writing this post. Dur. Moving on.
I’m excited. Blogging makes me all girly giddy and I can’t explain why. But I have missed it. Time to get back to it.
Let’s get rockin’!
